OnePlus Nord N10 5G: A Reasonable 5G Enabled Mid-Ranger Handset

OnePlus Nord N10 comes as a firm mid-ranger handset with a 90Hz display refresh rate and 5G connectivity. It is a truly mid-range handset with a 90Hz screen refresh rate with few large megapixels cameras and fast charging of 30W. It is an amazing lower price model that OnePlus has released. However, it not so fast performer and also comes with a mediocre battery. Although having some high mega-pixels cameras, it does not offer extraordinary photos like other mid-range handsets. Though it is a decent all-rounder handset and also one of the cut-rate 5G enabled phones on the marketplace.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is in a different class of mid-range handsets competing for a new title to prominence. It won the title of 5G enabled the cheapest handset in the marketplace. It comes with a 690 Snapdragon Processor paired with RAM of 6GB which doesn’t offer the fastest mishmash in the mid-ranger race. However, in the benchmarks scores, the N10 5G doesn’t perform strikingly slower than other rivals. It comes with a storage of 128GB that can be extended, not like sealed storage of Google Pixel 4a 5G.

It comes with a 4,300mAh battery which is not the biggest at all as the Motorola One 5G stores a 5000mAh battery. However, it offers 30W of fast charging that back-ups the juice over 50% in just 30 minutes that’s decent too. In terms of dimensions feature, the N10 5G feels and looks smooth enough. It comes with a shiny plastic rear side and glassy display that sandwich with metallic frames. These dimensions make it appear more first-class than the polycarbonate rear side of the Google Pixel 4a 5G. Generally, the N10 5G is a prodigious handset, with a slicker display and greater daylight camera for the price tag.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G was announced on 9 November 2020, with the price of £329 about AU$595/$430. However, in the UK, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G was released on 20 November 2020. This handset comes just after the OnePlus Nord N100, an even more reasonable handset that reasonably lacks 5G accessibility. The Nord N10 5G is also cheaper than OnePlus Nord at the rate of £50. The Nord N10 5G arrives in just one color, Midnight Ice. It is actually a blue-ish gradient that feels spotless and decent. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G has a compact mid-range feel and appearance that gets much from the Nord. While the N10 5G is somewhat bigger by some millimeters on each flank. It is quite enough to get it without looking at it –You just ensure to put your full digits on it otherwise it doesn’t sense partial prints. It is more precise and receptive than the in-display fingerprint scanner on the costlier OnePlus handsets. The camera setup locates here on the upper left side of the handset. It looks noticeably diverse than that on the Nord. However, instead of one column, the N10 5G cameras are organized in a rectangle like a camera setup on the OnePlus 8T.

So, the digital zoom is absent here. The cameras can record 4K video at 30fps and great slow motion in 240fps at 720 pixels. Although the standard Nord has two selfie snappers (ultra-wide and main), the N10 5G has a solo 16MP selfie snapper. People who prefer to take full group selfies may disappoint here, but regular users will satisfy with a single selfie camera.

However, having a mediocre processor than other mid-range phones it performs much better in our testing.  N10 5G records 1847 points in Geekbench 5 than the Pixel 4a 5G, which records 1614 points in the same test. It’s one of the primary 5G-enable handset running the Snapdragon 690 processor we’ve experienced.  The Nord N10 5G is a 5G handset, with accessibility to sub-6 5G setups. The N10 5G comes with Android 10– which is a good operative system, of course, but it performs well. It is good for web browsing, Netflix streaming, and gaming too.

However, it is below many other mid-range handsets – such as the Motorola One 5G stores a 5,000mAh large battery. Though it lasts a full day long with regular use of internet streaming and playing games with a single charge. It does not last for long as OnePlus 8T or OnePlus 8T Pro.

Nord N10 5G offers its costlier sibling’s Warp charger 30T. This offers the handset to charge from zero to 55% in just half an hour. The 30T may become dull in contrast to the 65W charger stored in the OnePlus 8T. However, a 30W maximum charging capability beats the recharging speed of other mid-range handsets. The Motorola One 5G, for example, charges at 15W. The N10 5G doesn’t offer wireless charging, but that’s not typically a spec found in mid-range handset anyhow.

Should I purchase OnePlus Nord N10 5G or not?

Purchase it if:

• You want a reasonable 5G with the basics
  The OnePlus N10 5G is a complete luxury package that is reasonable as much as competing 5G handsets.
• You’re satisfied with daytime photos
  The OnePlus N10 5G has a wide setup of cameras and snap modes, but not the most inspiring night mode. If you take photos in the daytime, the N10 5G will be suitable for you.
• You want a reasonable 90Hz display
  The OnePlus N10 5G’s top-spec is the 90Hz smoother display, which is not a normal incentive at the mid-range level.

Don’t purchase it if:

• You want a great camera phone for this price

The N10 5G takes fine photos, but the Google Pixel 4 and 4a 5G are the best handsets for photography. If you are in search of a good camera mid-range handset then you should go for Google phones or others else.

• You want top specs
  The N10 5G has fine specs, but not so impressive that you deserve at this price. Most of the mid-range handsets come with 765G Snapdragon and 6GB of RAM or more in that price.
• You want a larger battery life

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G does not offer the largest battery. If you need the largest battery handset, then go for the Motorola One 5G that offers a 5,000mAh battery.
